Handyman Services in London

Shelves, flat-pack, repairs, small fixes. Free site visits, written quote.

Reliable handyman services

Most London homes have a growing list of small jobs that never quite get done — a wobbly banister, a door that won't shut properly, three pictures still leaning against the wall, a flat-pack wardrobe in the box it arrived in. TrustBuilt Projects runs a handyman service designed for exactly that list. We send one person from our in-house team, with the right tools, the right fixings for your wall type, and the experience to get through a dozen jobs in a single visit rather than booking three separate trades. We work across every London borough within 20 miles of the centre, covering everything from single-job call-outs to half-day and full-day bookings for longer punch lists. Because the same trades who do our renovation work also handle these smaller jobs, the standard is the same — proper preparation, clean fixings, no shortcuts, no mess left behind. If your job turns out to be bigger than a handyman task, we'll tell you honestly and quote it separately rather than bodging something that needs a specialist.

Typical visits cover anything from mounting a TV and hanging gallery walls to assembling IKEA wardrobes, fixing sticking doors, sealing baths, replacing toilet seats, swapping light fittings, hanging curtain poles and patching small holes in plasterwork. Single-job call-outs work well for an urgent fix; half-day and full-day bookings make more sense once you've got five or six items on the list. We cover every London borough within 20 miles of the centre and arrange site visits free of charge so you can walk us through the list — including the awkward bits hidden in drawers — before anything is quoted in writing.

FAQ

Common handyman services in london questions

How much does a handyman cost in London?

Most handyman jobs in London fall between £80 and £180 for a single short visit, £200–£280 for a half-day and £350–£480 for a full day depending on the list. We quote in writing after a free site visit (or a quick chat through your list over WhatsApp) so you know exactly what you're paying before we start.

Is there a minimum charge or call-out fee?

Yes. Because we're sending a person and a van across London, the smallest visit is priced as a minimum call-out. If your job will only take 20 minutes, it's usually worth saving up a small list so the visit is good value — we'll happily advise on what's worth combining.

Can you do small electrical and plumbing work?

We handle minor jobs — swapping light fittings, replacing sockets on a like-for-like basis, fitting new tap washers, replacing toilet seats and resealing baths. Anything notifiable (new circuits, consumer-unit work, gas) is sent to the relevant qualified specialist on our team rather than done as handyman work.

Do you supply the materials or do I?

Either works. Customers often have the flat-pack, picture frames or fittings ready to go. For consumables like screws, wall plugs, sealant or filler we bring our own. If you'd like us to pick up specific fittings on the way, we'll add the cost to the quote at the price we paid.

Which London areas do you cover?

All London boroughs within roughly a 20-mile radius of central London — from Wandsworth, Clapham and Battersea through Camden, Islington and Hampstead and out to the inner edges of the M25. If you're not sure, send us your postcode and we'll confirm before booking.

Can you come at the weekend?

Yes. We work Monday to Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 9:30am–6pm. Saturday slots book up quickly so it's worth giving us a few days' notice if you need one.

What if my job is bigger than a handyman task?

We'll tell you honestly. If during the visit it turns out the job really needs a plasterer, a full electrical rewire or a proper plumbing repair, we'll stop, explain what's needed, and quote it as separate work rather than bodging something that won't last.

Costs

How much does a handyman cost in London?

These are typical London market ranges for 2026, not a fixed price list or a quote from TrustBuilt — handyman rates vary by your zone, the trade involved and how many jobs you group into one visit.

ServiceTypical London rate (2026)Notes
General handyman — hourly rate£45 – £65 / hrper hour, most areas of London
First hour / minimum call-out£80 – £100minimum charge, covers first hour
Half-day (up to ~4 hrs)£130 – £200good for 2–3 small jobs
Full day (approx. 8 hrs)£200 – £350per day, per tradesperson
Specialist work (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)£55 – £90 / hrtrade-dependent hourly rate
Common small jobs (flat-pack, TV mount, shelving)£60 – £200typical per-job price

Figures are for labour only, per tradesperson, and most London quotes exclude VAT, materials (often charged at cost plus ~25%), and parking or congestion charges. Specialist or notifiable electrical/gas work needs a qualified, registered tradesperson and is priced separately.

What affects your handyman cost?

Your London zone

Central London (Zone 1) jobs run noticeably higher than outer zones, driven by demand, travel time and parking or congestion charges.

Number of jobs per visit

Most handymen apply a minimum charge covering the first hour, so grouping several small tasks into one visit lowers your effective cost.

Trade and skill required

General odd jobs sit at the lower end, while electrical, plumbing or carpentry work commands specialist hourly rates and may need a registered tradesperson.

Materials and parts

Quoted rates are usually labour only; materials, fixings and sourcing time are added on, often at cost plus a handling margin of around 25%.

Timing of the work

Evenings, weekends, emergencies and short-notice bookings typically attract supplements of 25–50% over standard weekday rates in London.

Access and property type

Flats with shared access, scaffolding, awkward heights or older buildings take longer, pushing a job from one hourly slot into half- or full-day pricing.
