An overgrown rear garden converted into a structured outdoor living space anchored by a generous natural stone patio. The owners wanted the garden to be usable for entertaining without the maintenance overhead of a traditional lawn-and-borders setup.
Large-format natural stone slabs were laid as the primary patio surface, sized to feel proportionate to the garden. Drainage was carefully planned. Surrounding landscaping was simplified into low-maintenance planting zones with structured borders, and lighting was added at low level for evening use.
A garden that's now genuinely usable year-round, with a patio that handles outdoor furniture, BBQs, and entertaining without looking cluttered or worn.
